Austin Film Festival Reader!

In addition to working on Doom Patrol, these past few weeks I’ve been judging scripts for the Austin Film Festival! My role consists of reading First and Second Round scripts in the TV Drama Pilot category, followed by reviewing, analyzing, and rating to determine which pilots will advance to the competition’s Semifinalist Round. I’ve had such an amazing time reading many truly extraordinary scripts written by writers with a knack for world building and creating stories so rich in character. The breath of talent that being a reader has exposed me to has seriously been wonderful.

Willie Nelson once said, “There’s a freedom you begin to feel the closer you get to Austin, Texas,” and although I completely disagree with him because I’m from Dallas (the best city in Texas), the chance to represent and contribute to the creativity elevated by my home-state continues to be the most rewarding part of this entire experience.
